Crisis in South Sudan: What You Missed

South Sudan, the world’s newest country, is struggling with the effects of an El Nino-related drought, and continuing violence.

On July 7th, 2016, the situation took another turn for the worst:

World Vision staff responded to media requests from the confines of their office, where they waited until the dust of the fighting settled:

And then it was back to work, figuring out how to respond to this new wave of destruction:

and began doing what they could to provide.

We kept our supporters informed about what we were doing…

The people of South Sudan urgently need food, water and shelter. One third of South Sudanese is currently facing acute malnutrition. Many of them have fled without supplies and are now without even basic necessities.
